Croque Madame on wheat

croque-madame

The croque madame got it’s name from the egg on top, which is said to resemble a ladies hat. It sure doesn’t taste like one. For years, many have mixed their toasted bread with egg yolk, so why not add in the breakfast meat of ham and a bit of cheese? Of course, you can eat a croque madame whenever you’d like, but if you have her spend the night at least treat her to breakfast. Flavors of the croque monsieur find a new home in this gentle female form, and maybe it’s just the French name that she carries but you can rest assured that this is one classy broad of a sandwich.
