Cheeseburger on glazed doughnut
Known as the Luther Burger because it was a vision of R&B icon Luther Vandross, this sandwich has many variations. The simplest version is featured here: a glazed doughnut cut like a bagel into two parts and a cheeseburger placed in between. The mixture of flavors is not unpleasant, though better combinations of taste have come before. Part sweet sugar glaze and part fluffy doughnut meets the delicious intensity of beef and cheese. Ketchup? Maybe. More toppings? It could work. Take this selection in whatever direction you’d like, but know that you’ll be eating at least half of your suggested calories for the day.
